ACOLYTE MINISTRY
Serve at the Altar of the
Lord
This is a
multi-generational ministry – grade 5 through Adult. Interested in the Ministry of Sacristan or Thurifer?
The Acolyte Ministry is where you start.
Expectations:
- Baptized
- Registered member of STM Church
- Regular worship at STM
- Participation in initial and ongoing training
- Commitment to serve 2-4 Masses per
bi-monthly ministry schedule
EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY/EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION
Blessed are those called
to the Supper of the Lamb
This is a
multi-generational ministry – age 16 and above with flexible scheduling according to weekly, monthly and seasonal needs.
Expectations:
- Fully Initiated into the Roman Catholic Church (baptized & confirmed)
- Registered Member of STM Church
- Regular worship at STM Church
- Participation in initial and ongoing training
- Commitment to serve 2-4 Masses per
bi-monthly ministry schedule
LECTOR MINISTRY
Proclaim the Word of God
in the midst of the Assembly
This is a
multi-generational ministry – grade 5 through adult.
Expectations:
- Baptized
- Registered Member of STM Church
- Regular worship at STM Church
- Participation in initial and ongoing training
- Skill in Proclamation of the Word
- Commitment to serve 2-3 Masses per
bi-monthly ministry schedule
USHER MINISTRY
Serving the Liturgy
“Behind the Scenes”
All ages are
welcome to engage in age appropriate tasks.
We have a variety
of straightforward, essential chores that need your help:
- Hymnal / Pew Maintenance
- Altar Linens
- Acolyte Robes
- Polishing Brass
- Votive Candles
- Holy Water Fonts
- Worship Orders
- Seasonal Environment
- Maintenance of Sanctuary Plants & Flowers
- Heavenly Housekeepers
Expectations:
- Regular worship at STM Church
- Participation in Initial training
- Coordination/Collaboration with other “Support Team” members
- Commitment to performing tasks with minimum supervision in adherence to
established schedule
